In the EU novel food has been regulated by the Novel Food Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 (available at [»]). Corresponding to the recommendations of EFSA (available at [»]) we compile the toxicological description of the novel food and provide, as far as is applicable, a scientifically reasonable delimitation towards pharmaceutical products or medical devices.
